The Department of Conservation runs campsites near Picton. All need booking; details and fees are on DOC’s pages.
A DOC campsite bay 10 km east of Picton on Port Underwood Road — about 15 minutes from the ferry.
A fully serviced DOC campsite on Queen Charlotte Drive, 25 minutes from Picton, with a playground on the reserve.
DOC also runs six campsites along the Queen Charlotte Track. Freedom camping and overnight stays are prohibited in Picton’s public car parks (parking rules).
